Centrist Democrats in the making
A new batch of Centrist democrat Trainors graduated in the recent CDPI Master Trainors Training Program (MTTP)held at the Apple Tree Resort, Taboc Opol, Misamis Oriental.
Ensued last May 28 – 31, the fifteen (15) participants recommended from different areas in the Philippines qualified the said training for being astute members of the Centrist Democratic Party of the Philippines (CDP), a national political party espousing the same. Since its inception, the MTTP regards mastery of the teachings and advocacies of Centrist democracy.
The 7th MTPP follows a lecture-workshop training design where speakers begin with a thorough discussion on each pillar of Centrist Democracy and will assess the participants’ understanding through a workshop.
Among the speakers include Milan Dagus,member of the Centrist Democratic Party, Cagayan chapterwho sharedon the history and relevance of the advocacy while Charlito “Kaloy” Manlupig, President and Chairman Emeritus of Balay Mindanaw shed light on Subsidiarity and Decentralization towards Federalism.
Lito Monico Lorenzana ,President of CDPI and Chairman of the CDP,deepened the essentials of the Social Market Economy and delivered an inspirational talk on their relevance of being party members and leaders. Dr. Jose “Pepe” Abueva, U.P. Professor Emeritus of Political Science and Public Administration engaged the participants on the establishing of a functioning democracy and a just and humane society under the rule of law; and Jun Dumaug, CDP District Chair of Iligan elaborated on Electoral Reform in the Philippines and its Issues and Challenges.
Day 2 of the training program were workshops initiated by members of the CDPI Concilium, April Dela Cruz, Jordan Antolin and Atty. Elgine Alfono on the conduct of successful centrist-oriented seminars.
Furthermore, after a day of activities were “social gatherings” exclusively for the participants, speakers and facilitators.
